Russet lining is vegetable tanned calf skin, produced on a mellow dressed side.

This can be left in its natural state to age beautifully, or enhanced by polishing, creaming and waxing.

Russet lining is a traditional bespoke shoe lining. It is also used for hand tooling/carving, falconry and other leathergoods.
